daCi is celebrating UNESCO International Dance Day by activating the Dance and the Child International Ljubljana Declaration, with daCi Days and Twinning, Outreach, and Research projects taking place in Australia, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, the Philippines, Slovenia, South Africa, Uganda, and the USA.
The Ljubljana Declaration provides a framework emphasising the importance of dance and creative movement in education. It refers to the Framework for Arts and Cultural Education adopted by education and culture ministers from around the world at the UNESCO World Conference in Abu Dhabi in February 2024.
daCi initiatives enable its members to collaborate on a transnational level through projects reflecting the values and goals defined in the Declaration. Project results are presented at the daCi conference, which every three years brings together dance educators, teachers, young dancers, academics, politicians, and many others who are moved by dance. daCi Day shares these values on a national level and invites new members to the daCi family.
